Feature & Follow #5

Friday 22 May 2015

Feature and Follow is a weekly feature hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

The aim is to make new friends in the book blogging community and gain new followers to your blog.
Question of the week:
How do you write your reviews?
I try to write my reviews as soon as possible after I finish a book as all the details are still in my head. I occasionally write things down whilst reading a book if it's something that I want to remember to mention in my review. Generally, I don't have a specific format for my reviews and try to just write my honest feelings about the plot, the characters and so on. I actually sometimes find it harder to write reviews for books that I loved!

Do you have a specific method for writing your reviews?

  1. Oh yes! Writing a review for a loved book is hard because all I want to say is I love it I love it I love it!

  3. We have almost the same review process, but I also have a review journal where I initially write my review before typing it up.

  4. Hopping through. I need to write my reviews sooner after finishing. I have a tendency to forget things and have to go back and reread the book.

    1. I know what you mean, I think I would be likely to forget things too if I didn't write my review straight away.

  6. I'm such a perfectionist that it takes me a while to think of what to write and then I just hope that I can get it down the way I had it in my head.

    1. I feel the same way sometimes. Some reviews are harder than others and it can be really frustrating when I can't get my thoughts written down properly.

  7. I also find it so hard to write reviews for books I love the most. I have about 5 reviews pending because I cannot figure out how to write my feelings out.

  8. I am like you that I write my reviews soon after I read. And it makes it easier to stay on top of my reviews too.

  9. It is definitely tougher to review loved books! If I love a story, I want to include as many quotes and plot points as possible, but I hold myself back from publishing a giant review by editing a bunch! :)
