Feature & Follow #4

Friday 15 May 2015

Feature and Follow is a weekly feature hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read.

The aim is to make new friends in the book blogging community and gain new followers to your blog.
Question of the week:
How do you organize your books? Either at home on your bookshelves or on your reading-device, or on your bookish platform like Goodreads, Leafmarks or Booklikes.
I have a bookcase but it is completely full. It's mostly full of books that I have read or have no intention of reading any time soon. My newer books are piled on my desk. I'm really hoping to get a new, bigger, bookcase soon so I can have them all in there. I don't have a special system for my kindle and only a few additional shelves on Goodreads. Spreadsheets are my friend for keeping my books organised!

My dream is to one day have a spare room that I can turn into a library.
I'm totally envious of the masterpiece of a library in Beauty and the Beast:

How do you organise your books?

  1. Seriously the BEST picture ever! Or perhaps animated! LOL! Some real life bookcases/library rooms are absolutely gorgeous! But yes, I salivate a little every time I see Belle's library! I think...all those bookshelves/book space! Could easily fill nearly a wall's worth with what I have now! LOL! That includes all the doubles and whatnot I can't seem to part with or ever plan to part with! ;)

But yes, I am old school organized by author's last name. Then it's series in which they were published or in order I read. Which are usually the same! LOL! Can't do the whole alphabetize by title when that puts the series out of order! Drives me nuts!

    Here's my Follow Friday

    Have a GREAT day!

    1. I know! It just makes me jealous every time I see it lol! I can actually spend hours on the internet looking at libraries/peoples' bookshelves etc. It's so addicting and I love getting ideas! haha.

Sorting by last name is the best way I think. I can't alphabetise by title either, having a series in the wrong order is just something I can't do! Don't even get me started on books in a series that don't match... infuriating!

      Thanks for visiting! :)

  4. I just bought a house and I'm lucky enough to have a library room now! :) It's awesome! I have my books organized by genre and then alphabetically by author. I have the same system on Goodreads. I think I should come up with a spreadsheet though!

    My FF!

It sounds like you have a great system. I like having a spreadsheet as I can look something up quickly! :)

  5. I would love to have a Beauty and the Beast library! My husband claimed the spare room in our house as his office. -_-

I should have beat him to it!

    1. Oh no! A library is a much better idea for a spare room!

Hopefully we can both get one one day! haha
