10 Wishes I'd Ask The Book Genie To Grant Me

Tuesday 20 October 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke And The Bookish

I had a lot of fun thinking up my bookish wishes this week!

1) My own personal library. I think I would go for something really cosy with comfortable chairs/couches, fairy lights and lamps. A window seat would also be nice as I've always wanted one of them! Floor to ceiling bookcases would also be a must as would blankets and pillows. It would be heaven.

2) The ability to read books faster. I'm already a fast reader but with so many releases that I want to read pretty much coming out on a daily basis, this would be a really handy power to have.

3) The ability to remember intricate details of previous books in a series so that I'm not lost in the newest installment. Reading so many books means that I'm often a bit lost when a new installment comes around and there's a period of having to get my bearings again.

4) Can I be cheeky and somehow get copies of books before they are released? Like the unreleased Throne of Glass books? If I promise not to reveal anything? ... I'm thinking this genie will obviously be a bookworm and will totally sympathise and so will only be too happy to oblige.

5) I'm kidding myself if I don't think I'd ask a genie for this: a new Harry Potter book. That would just be SO amazing.

6) One of those massive book conventions to happen in my country (Scotland). They all happen in the US and I'm jealous of all the author signings and book giveaways.

7) To meet any of my favourite authors would be really cool. J. K. Rowling, Rainbow Rowell or Sarah J. Maas would be at the top of my list.

8) I would totally get my genie to bring some book characters to life so I could meet them. Top of my list would be Aelin, Dorian and Chaol. (Throne of Glass) <3. I'd also love to meet Harry, Ron, Hermione and Dumbledore! And Snape, Professor McGonagall and Hagrid. ... Basically everyone from Harry Potter (but maybe not Voldemort).

9) A bookshelf that never runs out of space. Or has to be dusted. The books stay in pristine condition and there is always room for more.

10) The protection of bookshops and libraries because they are incredible places and everyone should have access to books.

That's it! Those are my ten wishes for the book genie.
What wishes would you ask the genie to grant? Let me know!
